Rules

This page explains how the board works, start to finish. Read it before you bid.

Ranking

Rank is determined by bid amount alone. Nothing else affects position: not clicks, not Seen counts, not how recently you paid. The higher bid is always ranked higher.

Ties go to whoever paid first.

Minimum bids

Any amount from $1 up joins the board, at whatever rank that amount earns. There is no minimum tied to the current top bid to simply be listed.

Taking the #1 spot is different: to overtake the current top bid, you have to clear it by a minimum step that goes up as the top bid gets bigger:

• Below $500: at least $1 more than the current top bid.
• From $500 to $999: at least $2 more.
• At $1000 and above: at least $5 more.

You can always pay more than the minimum. The minimum only exists to stop someone taking the top spot for a few cents.

Raising your own entry

You can raise an existing entry at any time by paying again. You pay only the difference: if your entry is at $400 and you want it at $520, you pay $120, not $520.

A raise has to add at least $1 to your entry's total. If your raise would also take the #1 spot, it has to clear the same minimum step described above.

If you submit the same link you already have a live entry for, that's treated as a raise on the existing entry rather than a second entry. This stops one person from occupying several ranks with the same video.

Payment comes first: nothing appears on the board, and no raise takes effect, until payment is confirmed.

There are no refunds. This applies to every payment, including a raise: if an entry is removed for breaking these rules, everything paid into it, however many payments that took, is not refunded.

What's not allowed

We don't accept:

• Anything that isn't hosted on YouTube.
• Sexual content.
• Hate speech.
• Violent extremism.
• Scams and financial fraud.
• Malware and piracy.
• Age-restricted or made-for-kids videos.
• Anything YouTube itself has already removed or made private.

We may remove an entry at any time if it breaks these rules, or for any other reason at our discretion.

What "Seen" means

Seen is one deduplicated visitor who either played the video here or clicked through to YouTube from an entry. Each visitor is counted once per entry per day. It's approximate and best-effort, not an exact measurement, and it never affects rank.

The 15-day cycle

The board resets every 15 days. When it resets, the previous board stays visible for 48 hours under a "last cycle" view before it's archived. An all-time list separately keeps the top bidders across every past cycle, so a strong result isn't lost when the cycle ends.
